I've made a striped picnic blanket from this damn good Yorkshire wool. I image myself reclining on the windwept Yorkshire Moors, eagerly awaiting Heatcliffe, as he strides over to tussocks, eager to embrace me in his powerful arms. Unfortunately, I am no Cathy, the attractive young damsel in the Wuthering Heights novel. I see myself as a Norah Batty, that rather ridiculous character from the TV show, Last of The Summer Wine!
Materials: 6 balls in total of Wendy Pure Wool Aran, 2 in colour A, and 1 each of colour B, C, D and E. Our sample is uses the folowing shades: Norah Batty 2 balls, and one ball of Compo, Seymour, Foggy and Herbert.
Pair of 10 mm circular needle of at least 80cm long.
Needle to sew in ends.
Piece of stiff card and a large crochet hook (for the tassels)
Size: Approximately 110 cm’s long and 110 cm’s wide. Excluding tassels.
You are working with 2 strands of wool held together throughout this project.
