The Luana Vest is an intermediate-level project designed using Yana yarn. This stylish vest features a color-block design and is knit separately in front and back pieces, then sewn together.

Tension

11 stitches and 18 rows to 10 cm in Stockinette stitch, using 6.5mm needles and after blocking.

Needle Sizes

• US Size 10.5 (6.5 mm) 16” & 32” circular knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
• Tapestry needle.
• Stitch holders.

Stitch Patterns

• Stockinette Stitch (worked flat):
  • Row 1 (RS): Knit.
  • Row 2 (WS): Purl.
  • Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for pattern.
• K1, P1 Ribbing (worked in the round):
  • Round 1: *K1, p1; repeat from * to end.
  • Repeat Round 1 for pattern.
• K1, P1 Ribbing (worked flat):
  • Row 1 (RS): *K1, p1; repeat from * to last st, k1.
  • Row 2 (WS): P1, *k1, p1; repeat from * to end.
  • Repeat Rows 1-2 for pattern.

Construction Notes

• The front and back are knit separately and sewn together.
• Change colors using the intarsia method, using a separate ball of yarn for each section.
