4ply wool is where the magic of fine knitting really begins. If you're looking for 4ply yarn in NZ, our collection has a beautiful range of yarns perfect for delicate, detailed work — from intricate lace shawls and lightweight garments to baby knits and the ever-popular hand-knit sock.
4ply — sometimes called fingering weight — is a fine yarn that typically works on 2.5mm–3.5mm needles. It takes longer than chunkier weights, but the finished fabric has an elegance and wearability that makes the effort completely worthwhile. A 4ply garment is light enough to layer, fine enough to travel well, and beautiful enough to become an heirloom.
Our 4ply range includes natural fibres like merino, sock-weight wool blends with nylon for durability, and pure wool options for traditional patterns. It's a versatile weight that suits knitters and crocheters at every skill level, though if you're new to fine yarn, we'd suggest starting with a simple project and good lighting!
