Construction Overview
This cowl is worked seamlessly in the round from the bottom up.
- Begins with a decorative corrugated rib using alternating contrast colours
- Transitions into stocking stitch colourwork, following a central chart (see page 3)
- The full chart is worked once, creating the featured motif bands including snowflakes, geometric repeats, and heart detailing
- Finished with a matching corrugated rib border for symmetry
Unused yarns are carried neatly up the inside of the work throughout—no frequent cutting required.
Pattern Notes
- Do not break yarn between colour changes; carry floats neatly up the inside
- Maintain even tension across colourwork to avoid puckering
- The chart on page 3 provides the full motif sequence and colour placement
- Corrugated rib alternates knit stitches in contrast colours with purl stitches in the main colour, creating a textured, elastic edge
Finishing
- Weave in all ends securely
- Block gently to even out stitches and enhance the colourwork definition
