Wild & Woolly yarn options
These shop-approved alternatives replace the designer’s yarn combination. Choose one option and check it with a washed, blocked swatch before starting.
Option 1: Single-strand 8ply
Choose Sandnes Garn Double Sunday or Sesia Nordica 8ply, worked as one strand without a mohair companion.
Option 2: 4ply with 2ply mohair
Hold one strand of Sandnes Garn Sunday together with one strand of Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair: two strands in total.

These are equivalent-metre planning estimates, not confirmed designer consumption for the substitutes. The main allowance for either option comes from the original main yarn at 125 metres per 50 g. The mohair companion allowance is converted from the original fine wool companion at 300 metres per 50 g. For the single-strand 8ply option, use only the main allowance; do not add the original companion’s length.
Each column in Option 2 is the quantity of that individual yarn. Double Sunday supplies 108 metres per sale unit, Sesia Nordica 125 metres, Sunday 235 metres and Tynn Silk Mohair 212 metres. Round each yarn up to whole sale units and allow extra for swatching or added length.
Work a swatch in the pattern’s charted texture, using all strands of your chosen option. Wash and block before checking 20 stitches × 32 rows per 10 cm. Adjust needle size to match both gauges and check fabric structure and drape; fibre and strand changes can alter fit and consumption.
