Gauge, needles and materials
Gauge: 10 stitches × 14 rows in stocking stitch on 10 mm needles, after washing and blocking = 10 × 10 cm.
Needles: 10 mm circulars: 60, 80 or 100 cm; 9 mm circulars: 40 and 60 cm.

Option 3: Double Sunday held double with 2ply mohair
Hold two strands of Sandnes Garn Double Sunday (8ply) with one strand of 2ply mohair: three strands together. The Double Sunday column is the total for both strands; do not double it again.

For the mohair component in Options 2 and 3, choose Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair or African Expressions Hope 2ply Mohair.
Equivalent-metre planning estimates, not confirmed designer consumption: the main-yarn basis is the designer’s 110 m per 50 g option, whose quantities cover two strands. Option 3 keeps that combined metre total; Options 1 and 2 use half that total for a single thicker main strand. Mohair estimates retain the designer’s separate quantities at 212 m per 25 g. Different yarn thicknesses, fibres and strand combinations can change actual use; allow extra for swatching and any added length.
Wash and block a generous swatch. Aim for 10 stitches × 14 rows per 10 × 10 cm, starting with 10 mm needles and adjusting as needed. Check that the fabric has the drape you want before buying the full project quantity.
Frequently asked questions
Is the back longer than the front?
Yes. The split rib hem has a longer back section, so the listed mid-back length is not the front-hem length.
Is 6 cm of ease added to the table?
No. The table gives finished measurements. Size S is 96 cm around, which gives 6 cm of ease on a 90 cm bust.
Does the Double Sunday total need doubling?
No. The Option 3 table already includes both Double Sunday strands. For size M, plan 660 m of Double Sunday in total, plus the separate 424 m mohair estimate.
