📬 Printed Booklet (Posted to You)
June Top Light — PetiteKnit knitting pattern
A close-fitting sleeveless top with a deeper back neckline and i-cord edging. Work the body from the bottom up in the round, then finish front and back separately. An optional provisional cast-on lets you work from the middle and adjust length at the end.
English printed pattern booklet, posted to you. Yarn, needles and the finished garment are not included. This is not a PDF download.

Gauge, needles and materials
Gauge: 28 stitches × 40 rows in stocking stitch on 2.5 mm needles = 10 × 10 cm.
Needles: 2.5 mm circular: 80 cm; 2 mm circulars: 40 and 80 cm.
Designer difficulty: 3 out of 5.
Recommended shop yarn options
Choose one of these stocked substitutes, each knitted single stranded:
- Option 1: Sandnes Garn Tynn Line — a cotton, viscose and linen blend for a cool, draping summer fabric; approximately 220 m per 50 g.
- Option 2: Sandnes Garn Sunday — 100% merino wool for a warmer fabric with more elasticity; approximately 235 m per 50 g.
These are Wild & Woolly substitute suggestions. Wash and block a stocking-stitch swatch to match 28 stitches × 40 rows per 10 cm; the fibres behave differently, especially in a top designed with negative ease.
Estimated metres by size: the table uses the larger published metre allowance across the designer's two original yarn options for each size, taking the upper end of any range. It is a conservative planning estimate for either substitute, not a test-knit requirement. Buy only the column for your chosen option.
| Size | Option 1: Sandnes Garn Tynn Line (m) | Option 2: Sandnes Garn Sunday (m) |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 600 | 600 |
| S | 750 | 750 |
| M | 750 | 750 |
| L | 800 | 800 |
| XL | 1000 | 1000 |
| 2XL | 1000 | 1000 |
| 3XL | 1250 | 1250 |
Round up to whole balls and allow extra for swatching or added length. Confirm your washed and blocked fabric has the fit and drape you want before committing to the garment; actual yarn use may vary.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the regular June Top gauge?
No. June Top Light is the finer version: 28 stitches × 40 rows on 2.5 mm needles. The regular June Top uses 20 stitches × 32 rows on 4 mm needles.
Can I adjust the length after knitting the upper sections?
Yes. The pattern includes a provisional cast-on method so you can work from the middle and decide the final lower-body length later.
Do I hold Tynn Line double as for the regular June Top?
No. For June Top Light, our Tynn Line option uses one strand. The Sunday option also uses one strand on its own; the two options are alternatives, not yarns to hold together.
How do the Tynn Line and Sunday options differ?
Tynn Line gives a cooler, draping plant-fibre fabric; Sunday gives a warmer, more elastic merino fabric. Check the finished feel and measurements of your washed swatch, as the pattern is designed to fit with negative ease.
