The alternatives give different fabrics. Match both pattern gauges with a washed and blocked swatch before committing to the project.
Wash and block a swatch to match the pattern gauge and check the finished fabric. Allow extra yarn for swatching, added length or other alterations, and round up when purchasing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the regular Lulu Slipover gauge?
No. The chunky edition uses 17 stitches × 24 rows in stocking stitch and 25 stitches × 24 rows in double knitting. The regular adult version has a 20-stitch main gauge.
How do the two shop yarn options differ?
Chaska Alpaca Air is used as one strand for a lofty fabric. The alternative combines one strand of Double Sunday with one strand of Tynn Silk Mohair; buy the separate component amounts and swatch the combined fabric.
Where do the four buttons go?
There are two buttons along each side, fastening the double-knitted edges while retaining the deep armholes and lower side slits.
