Lyon Sweater — Chunky Edition — PetiteKnit knitting pattern
A striped top-down sweater with shaped shoulders and a turtleneck. Work the back yoke first, pick up the shoulders along its sloping edges, then work the remaining yoke flat before joining in the round. Knit body and sleeves in the round and add the turtleneck at the end.

Sizes and fit
Compare your bust with the finished chest measurements for the fit you want. The designer’s example pairs a 90 cm bust with size S (115 cm finished), giving 25 cm of ease.

Gauge, needles and materials
Gauge: 16 stitches × 24 rows in stocking stitch on 5 mm needles = 10 × 10 cm.
Needles: 5 mm circulars: 40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm; 4.5 mm circulars: 80 and/or 100 cm; 4 mm circular: 40 cm; 5 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, unless using Magic Loop.

Stocked designer yarn combination
Hold one strand of Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt with one strand of Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair in each colour. The four columns are separate component and colour requirements, converted at 91 m per 50 g and 212 m per 25 g.

Wash and block a swatch to match the pattern gauge and check the finished fabric. Allow extra yarn for swatching, added length or other alterations, and round up when purchasing.
Frequently asked questions
Does the chunky edition have the regular Lyon neckline?
This version finishes with a turtleneck. The regular Lyon Sweater instead has a folded neck edge with built-in double knitting.
Do I need both yarns in each colour?
For the stocked designer combination, use Peer Gynt with Tynn Silk Mohair in the main colour and again in the stripe colour. Each of the four table columns is a separate purchase requirement.
Can I add extra stripes without changing the quantities?
The pattern specifies stripe placement. Extra stripes, longer sleeves or a longer body can change the colour balance and yarn use, so allow for those changes separately.
