Frequently asked questions
Should I choose Junior’s size by age alone?
Check the child’s actual chest measurement. A 62 cm chest has 25 cm of room in size 6–7 years, whose finished chest is 87 cm. Adjust length if their height differs from the age guide.
Can I use Otto Baby’s 3 mm gauge for Junior?
No. Junior is designed for 18 stitches × 26 rows on 4 mm needles; Baby uses 28 stitches × 42 rows on 3 mm needles.
Is the neckband included in the stated length?
No. The Junior length is measured at mid back excluding the folded neck edge. The 6–7 year size is 48 cm long on that basis.
Do I hold Double Sunday with mohair for Otto Junior?
No. The approved shop option is a single strand of Sandnes Garn Double Sunday, changing between two colours. Its quantities are equivalent-metre estimates; check a washed and blocked striped swatch at the Junior pattern’s 18-stitch gauge.
