Yarn: Baby Haven 4ply, now sold as New Zealand Merino 4ply, 178 m per 50 g ball. Work with one strand.

Construction and skill level
The sweater body and sleeves are knitted flat and seamed, with a buttoned shoulder opening. The hat is also knitted flat, crown-shaped and seamed. This is an intermediate project for knitters comfortable with cables, reverse stocking stitch, shaping and sewing on small decorative buttons securely.
Needles, notions and gauge
- 2.75 mm and 3.25 mm straight needles
- Cable needle, stitch holders and markers
- 1 button for the sweater and 8 buttons for the owl eyes
- Gauge: 28 stitches and 36 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3.25 mm needles
