Shop yarn options
Option 1 — merino with mohair
Hold one strand of New Zealand Merino 12ply with one strand of Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair. Buy each component separately.
| Size | New Zealand Merino 12ply — estimate (m) | Tynn Silk Mohair — estimate (m) |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 640 m | 530 m |
| S | 640 m | 636 m |
| M | 640 m | 636 m |
| L | 800 m | 742 m |
| XL | 800 m | 742 m |
These are shop substitution estimates. The merino allowance preserves the original main-strand length at 160 m per 100 g. The original mohair allowance is a combined total for two strands; dividing that length by two gives the estimate for this shop combination’s single mohair strand. These are length equivalents, not gram-for-gram substitutions.
Option 2 — chunky merino alone
New Zealand Merino Chunky, used single stranded without mohair.
| Size | New Zealand Merino Chunky — estimate (m) |
|---|---|
| XS | 640 m |
| S | 640 m |
| M | 640 m |
| L | 800 m |
| XL | 800 m |
The single-strand estimate uses the original main-yarn length as a starting allowance. This combination has not been test-knitted. Confirm 12 stitches and 17 rows per 10 cm and suitable drape in a washed, blocked swatch before ordering either option. New Zealand Merino 12ply is approximately 104 m per 50 g; New Zealand Merino Chunky is approximately 83 m per 50 g.
Wash and block a swatch before measuring. Match stitch and row gauge and check the fabric; adjust needle size as needed. Round up to complete sale units and allow extra for swatching or changes in length.
