Baby Jacket, Hat & Booties Knitting Pattern – K3084
A stocking stitch jacket with garter stitch edges and textured sleeve stripes, plus a matching hat and fold-over booties. Naturally K3084 uses Opal Wirbelwind 4ply; the samples are photographed in shades 11470 and 11477.
Construction and skills
All three projects are knitted flat. The jacket has separately worked back, fronts and sleeves, integral garter stitch front bands and a picked-up neckband. The hat is worked from the brim up and sewn at the back. The booties are shaped from the sole and instep, then seamed and folded down at the cuff.
Suggested skill level: intermediate. Techniques include ribbing, stocking stitch, garter stitch, increases, decreases, buttonholes, holding and picking up stitches, and seaming. Work the sleeve texture and increases at the same time as directed.
Sizes and finished measurements
The PDF gives four chest sizes without age labels. Choose by chest measurement. The following centimetre measurements refer to the jacket.

The hat and booties have four corresponding instruction sizes. Finished head and foot measurements are not supplied.
Yarn requirements
Use Opal Wirbelwind 4ply, worked with one strand. These approximate allowances cover the jacket, hat and booties together, calculated at 425 m per 100 g.

Tension
28 stitches and 36 rows over 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3.25 mm needles. Wash and dry a swatch before measuring and adjust needle size if needed to achieve the pattern tension.
