Gauge, needles and accessories
Gauge: 23 stitches × 36 rows in stocking stitch on 3.5 mm needles = 10 × 10 cm. Wash and block a swatch before starting, and adjust needle size to achieve the pattern gauge.
Needles: 3.5 mm and 3 mm circular needles, 40 and 60 cm; 3.5 mm double-pointed needles.
Buttons, 11–12 mm: 7 for the first two sizes and 8 for the others. Soft elastic, 2 cm wide, for the trouser waistband.

Quantities are converted from the designer's stated amounts using Sandnes Garn Double Sunday: 108 m per 50 g and rounded up to whole metres. Buy enough complete balls for your size and allow extra for swatching or changes in length.
For the inside trouser edge, allow an additional 22–33 m of Sandnes Garn Double Sunday. An optional pompom needs an additional 44–54 m.

Cashmere allowances retain the designer’s calculation at 112 m per 25 g and are rounded up to whole metres. The current Sandnes Garn Cashmere yarn listing states approximately 110 m per 25 g. Use the metre allowances shown when purchasing, checking the current yarn label and rounding up to whole sale units. Add 23–45 m for the inside trouser edge and 45–68 m for an optional pompom.
