A delicate 4ply baby set with lace texture, a three-button matinee jacket, matching hat and fold-down bootie cuffs. Designed by Kay Henry.
Construction and skill guidance
The jacket is knitted flat in separate fronts, back and sleeves, with raglan shaping and integral front bands. The hat is worked flat with a ribbed brim and lace body, then shaped and seamed. The booties are worked flat from the sole upwards and seamed.
Intermediate — lace repeats, yarn overs, decreases, raglan shaping, picking up stitches and seaming.

Approved alternative: Naturally New Zealand Merino 4ply (178 m per 50 g), worked with one strand.

Equivalent-metre estimates use the original Classic 4ply 25 g allowances at 89 m per unit. The set total is the sum of the three pieces. Allow extra for swatching.

28 stitches and 36 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3.25 mm needles.
Check a washed and blocked swatch before beginning, adjust needle size to match both stitch and row gauge, and check the fabric suits your project. Replacement yarn allowances are estimates, not a guarantee of identical fabric or consumption.
