Ahuru Cowl Knitting Pattern - 8Ply
A lace-panel cowl with three sizes and separate instructions for ultrafine and regular 8ply yarn.

Construction
Choose to work flat and seam the back, or knit in the round on a 40 cm circular needle.
Yarn choices
Use Touch Yarns Possum, Merino, Silk Ultrafine 8ply for the original light version, or regular DK/8ply for the separate heavier version. Each is worked with one strand; use the appropriate needles, tension and metre allowance.

Metre allowances are approximate. Where the original gives purchasing quantities rather than used metres, these have been converted using its stated yarn length. Swatch, wash and block before starting; allow extra for length changes and differences in tension.
Tension
The 16-stitch pattern repeat measures approximately 6.7 cm in ultrafine yarn or 7 cm in regular 8ply.
Needles and notions
3.75 mm needles for ultrafine yarn or 4 mm for regular 8ply; use straight needles for flat knitting or a 40 cm circular for the round version. Stitch markers: 9, 10 or 11 by size.
