Raglan Baby Sweater & Hat Knitting Pattern – K3082
Self-patterning colour brings interest to this stocking stitch baby set. Naturally K3082 includes a raglan sweater with a three-button opening along the upper left front raglan, plus a matching rib-brimmed hat. The sample yarn is Opal Wirbelwind 4ply, in shades 11476 and 11472.
Construction and skills
The sweater is knitted flat from the bottom up in separate back, front and sleeve pieces, then sewn along the raglans. A section of the left front raglan remains open for the picked-up button bands. The neckband uses held and picked-up stitches. The hat is knitted flat from the brim up and seamed at the back.
Suggested skill level: intermediate. Techniques include ribbing, stocking stitch, increases and decreases, raglan and neck shaping, holding stitches, picking up stitches, buttonholes and seaming.
