Baby Raglan Sweater & Hat Knitting Pattern – K3073
A knit-and-purl centre panel adds texture to this baby sweater, with a three-button opening along the left front raglan. Naturally K3073 includes a matching rib-brimmed hat and uses New Zealand Possum Fusion 4ply. The sample is shade 801.
Construction and skills
The sweater is knitted flat from the bottom up in separate back, front and sleeve pieces, then joined with raglan seams. The upper left front raglan stays open for the picked-up button bands. The neckband is worked from held and picked-up stitches. The hat is knitted flat from the brim up and seamed at the back.
Suggested skill level: intermediate. Techniques include a written knit-and-purl texture repeat, ribbing, raglan shaping, picking up stitches, buttonholes and seaming. No cable needle is required for the textured panel.
