3 Button Jacket Knitting Pattern – K430

A useful jacket for children aged approximately two to eight years. Three buttons, textured borders and a shaped neckline give this stocking-stitch knit a tidy finish for everyday layering.

Pattern Format: 📥📬 Available as Digital Download or Printed Copy (choose option below). This is a Naturally knitting pattern; yarn, needles and the finished item are not included.

Construction and Skill Guidance

The body is worked flat in one piece to the underarms, then the fronts and back are finished separately. Sleeves are knitted flat with shaped tops, set into the armholes and seamed. Join the shoulders and pick up the neckband to finish.

Suggested skill level: Intermediate. You’ll work shaping, textured borders, buttonholes, a picked-up neckband and set-in sleeve finishing.

Work with a single strand. Metreages are approximate yarn allowances converted from the original pattern quantities, rather than measured consumption. Allow extra for swatching or changes in size. Check a washed and dried swatch before starting.

Start each ball from the same end to keep the printed colour sequence consistent. The finished colour pattern varies with size.

  • Stitch holders and markers
