Construction and Techniques
Work two hexagons in rounds, fold them to form the cardigan halves and join the back and shoulder seams with slip stitches. The bottom hem is worked in rows, the cuffs in rounds, and double-crochet borders finish the edges. The optional buttons secure the folded lapels.
Uses British crochet terms, a magic ring, chains, trebles, slip stitches and double crochet. The growing hexagons do not lie flat.

The hexagon measurement is from its centre to the edge, not the finished cardigan length.
Before You Start with Iride
The white leader yarn at the ends of an Iride cake is waste yarn. For a centre pull, remove the white leader before starting. If working from the outside, stop before the final white leader section and discard it. Do not knit or crochet the white leader into your project.

Use one strand of Sesia Iride throughout. Quantities are for one cardigan in your chosen size, based on the current 450 metres per cake.
Hook and Notions
3.25 mm crochet hook, tapestry needle and two buttons if securing the lapels. Hook, yarn and notions are not included.
Tension
Six groups of three trebles and one chain across, and 10 rows, measure 10 cm in the granny pattern. Check tension before starting.
