Sandnes Garn Sunday is a soft, lightweight 4 ply yarn made from 100% non-superwash merino wool. It is Sandnes Garn’s finest merino base yarn and a beautifully versatile choice for fine garments, baby knits, colourwork and contemporary Scandinavian knitting patterns.

Knit Sunday as a single strand for a light, delicate fabric, hold two strands together for a fuller and warmer result, or combine it with Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair to create a soft halo and added depth. Its generous 235 metres per ball makes it an excellent option for detailed projects and lightweight layers.

What can I knit with Sandnes Garn Sunday?

Sunday is ideal for lightweight sweaters, cardigans, tops, slipovers, hats, scarves, baby garments and detailed colourwork. It is especially well suited to patterns that call for a fine merino or 4 ply wool yarn. When held double, it can also be used for projects requiring a thicker fabric, subject to achieving the pattern tension.

How to use Sunday with mohair

Pair one strand of Sunday with one strand of Tynn Silk Mohair for a light, warm fabric with a soft, fluffy halo. This combination is widely used in modern garment patterns and adds texture while preserving Sunday’s beautiful colour and stitch definition.

Care instructions

Machine wash separately using a gentle wool programme. Spin well, reshape and dry flat, preferably on a towel. Do not tumble dry. Avoid washing handknits in a laundry bag, as friction may cause the non-superwash wool to felt.
