Length-based estimates from the designer’s comparable single-strand wool/alpaca allowance (100 m per 50 g), rather than a tested substitute quantity. Match the pattern’s washed and blocked gauge and check the fabric before ordering.
Wash and block a swatch before measuring. Match stitch and row gauge and check the fabric; adjust needle size as needed. Round up to complete sale units and allow extra for swatching or changes in length.
Frequently asked questions
Is 102–154 cm the full tip-to-tip length?
No. The designer measures from the hood to one scarf tip. The hood depth is 24 cm in every size.
Does the hood need sewing?
Yes. Although the i-cord edges are knitted as you go, the back of the hood is sewn together with mattress stitch.
