Gauge, needles and materials
Gauge: 14 stitches × 20 rows in stocking stitch on 7 mm needles, after blocking = 10 × 10 cm.
Needles: 6 mm circulars: 40 and 80 cm; 7 mm circulars: 40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm; 5 mm and 7 mm double-pointed needles.

The 12ply estimates preserve the length of the designer’s original main strand at 150 m per 50 g. Mohair metres follow the stated companion quantities at 212 m per 25 g. New Zealand Merino 12ply is sold as approximately 104 m per 50 g; these are length equivalents, not gram-for-gram substitutions.

Estimated from the designer’s single-strand allowance at 125 m per 50 g. New Zealand Merino Chunky is approximately 83 m per 50 g. Confirm the 14-stitch and 20-row gauge and a suitable fabric in a washed, blocked swatch before ordering either option.
Wash and block a swatch before measuring. Match stitch and row gauge and check the fabric; adjust needle size as needed. Round up to complete sale units and allow extra for swatching or changes in length.
