A kimono-inspired 8ply jumper and matching hat, with garter-stitch detail and fold-back cuffs. Sizes cover approximately 3–6 months to 5–6 years.

Construction
Choose a body worked flat or in the round to the armholes. Sleeves are worked flat separately, and the neckband is finished on circular needles or double-pointed needles.
Yarn choices
Use DK/8ply yarn, worked with a single strand. Touch Yarns NZ Merino 8ply is a stocked 8ply option to swatch at the pattern tension. Match the metre allowance rather than copying quantities between yarn ranges.

Fit and cuffs
Allow 8–12 cm of positive ease. Sleeve measurements are for folded cuffs; unfolding adds approximately 5 cm.
Metre allowances are approximate. Where the original gives purchasing quantities rather than used metres, these have been converted using its stated yarn length. Swatch, wash and block before starting; allow extra for length changes and differences in tension.
Tension
22 stitches and 30 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch on 4 mm needles.
Needles and notions
4 mm needles for the garment, plus 3.5 mm for the hat band; 6 stitch holders, stitch markers and removable markers. Use 4 mm circular needles or double-pointed needles for the neckband, and 1 button or toggle.
Before you begin
You will use knit and purl stitches, shaping, holding stitches and seaming. Read the finishing instructions before starting. You will also follow texture repeats and join shoulders.

No. The listed sleeve lengths have the cuffs folded. Unfolding them adds approximately 5 cm.
