Frequently asked questions
Why does Frankie Sweater Junior use 3 mm needles with an 8ply yarn?
The designer specifies this needle size for the dense 23-stitch gauge. Use it as a starting point, then choose the size that gives the required washed gauge.
Which size suits a 59 cm chest?
The designer’s example uses 5–6 years, with an 82 cm finished chest and 23 cm of ease. Adjust length if needed.
Is the 10–12-year main-colour requirement a fixed amount?
No. The designer gives a range of 756–864 metres of Double Sunday for that size; plan using the upper allowance when purchasing.
