Jacket for Little Girls – Naturally K3035
A long jacket with a gently gathered lower body, a high ribbed waist and moss-stitch borders. The body is knitted flat in one piece from the hem to the armholes, then the back and fronts are finished separately. Sleeves are knitted flat and sewn in.

Yarn requirements
Use Sesia Iride 4ply organic cotton, held single. Allowances use 450 metres per 125 g and are approximate. The sample uses shade 450.

Before starting with Iride
The white leader is waste yarn. Remove it before using a centre pull, or stop before the final white leader section when working from the outside. Do not knit it into the jacket.
Tension
27 stitches × 36 rows over 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3.25 mm needles. Wash and dry your swatch before measuring and adjust needle size as needed.
Needles and notions
- 3.00 mm and 3.25 mm circular needles with an 80 cm cable, used to accommodate the stitches while knitting flat.
- Two stitch holders, four or five stitch markers and a tapestry needle.
- Four small buttons for the first two sizes; five for the last two sizes.

Frequently asked questions
Do the circular needles mean the jacket is knitted in the round?
No. All pieces are worked back and forth. The long cable holds the wide lower body comfortably.
Does the jacket button all the way to the hem?
No. The buttons run from the neckline to the high waist ribbing; the lower part is left open.
