Little Jacket in Chaska Muhu – Naturally K3041

A shaped jacket with a textured lower body, stocking-stitch upper sections and a generous garter-stitch collar. Knitted flat from the bottom up in separate pieces, it has set-in sleeves and a single large press-stud fastening. Short rows give the collar its shape.

Tension

22 stitches × 30 rows over 10 cm in stocking stitch on 4.00 mm needles. Wash and dry your swatch before measuring and use the needle size needed to achieve this tension.

Needles and notions

  • 3.75 mm and 4.00 mm knitting needles.
  • Stitch holders, stitch markers and a tapestry needle for sewing up.
  • One large snap fastener (press stud).

Skills and preparation

This is an intermediate garment project using knit-and-purl texture, simultaneous neck and armhole shaping, sleeve-cap shaping, picking up stitches, short rows and seaming. Read the complete shaping sections before beginning. Keep the collar cast-off loose so it sits comfortably.
