Baby Poncho Knitting Pattern — K509
Two 4ply poncho designs for easy baby layering: a texture-and-lace version and a knit-and-purl geometric version.
Construction and skill guidance
Each poncho is knitted flat as two rectangular panels, joined with offset seams. The ribbed neckband can be picked up and worked in the round or knitted flat and sewn on.
Intermediate: stitch patterns, lace increases/decreases for Style 1, seaming and neckband finishing.

Converted from Baby Haven 4ply quantities at 178 m per 50 g; this yarn is now labelled New Zealand Merino 4ply. Knit and wash/block a swatch to match the pattern gauge; allow extra for swatching or changes.
Gauge
28 stitches and 36 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3.25 mm needles.
Needles and notions
2.75 mm and 3.25 mm straight needles; optional 2.75 mm double-pointed needles for the neckband; markers and a sewing-up needle.
