Handmade Christmas or The Perfect Gift: This beanie can be made in an evening, two at most. Send to The Northern Hemisphere, to family members enduring a chilly winter, or look super syylish during the New Zealand cooler months.
I’m chuffed to bits (very excited)
This beanie knitting pattern has caught the eye of Nadia Lim and is featured in the Winter Edition of her lifestyle magazine, a superb publication which champions the very best of New Zealand. This beanie ticks all the boxes…it’s simple to knit, it uses NZ natural, dye free wool, available in Cream or Walnut, and is topped off with a very ‘eco friendly’ possum fur pom pom!
We have also made this beanie in our latest Wild Earth Eden, a pure New Zealand Wool available in some fabulous shades. Our shop sample is shown in Pistatio, the softest of glacial greens.
Size: one size: to fit the average size adult head.
A pair of 7 mm bamboo needles.
A large possum fur pom pom.
Sewing up needle to join your seam and to attach your pom pom.
Tension:Approximately 14 stitches to 10 cm worked in stocking stitch on 7 mm. needles
This beanie is worked with two strands of wool held together. This creates an extra special cosy effect. Do not be alarmed, once you have cast on, the strands automatically ‘stick’ together and can easily be worked as one stitch.
