I’m chuffed to bits (very excited)
This beanie knitting pattern has caught the eye of Nadia Lim and is featured in the Winter Edition of her lifestyle magazine, a superb publication which champions the very best of New Zealand. This beanie ticks all the boxes…it’s simple to knit, it uses NZ natural, dye free wool, available in Cream, Latte or Portobello, and is topped off with a very ‘eco friendly’ possum fur pom pom!
Size: one size: to fit the average size adult head.
Materials: 2 balls of Natural 8 ply wool from Wild Earth Yarns. Simple, honest and sustainable wool, grown and spun in Canterbury, New Zealand.
A pair of 7 mm bamboo needles.
A large possum fur pom pom.
Sewing up needle to join your seam and to attach your pom pom.
Tension:Approximately 14 stitches to 10 cm worked in stocking stitch on 7 mm. needles
This beanie is worked with two strands of wool held together. This creates an extra special cosy effect. Do not be alarmed, once you have cast on, the strands automatically ‘stick’ together and can easily be worked as one stitch.
