Oslo Beanie Knit Kit — Sunday + Tynn Silk Mohair

Knit PetiteKnit’s Oslo Hat with a deep folded brim and a soft mohair halo. This version uses one strand of Sunday held together with one strand of Tynn Silk Mohair throughout.

Skill level and construction

Confident Beginner. Knitted from the bottom up in the round in stocking stitch, with a knitted-in folded brim and shaped crown. Techniques include joining in the round, picking up the cast-on edge, a German short-row turn and decreases. Use double-pointed needles or Magic Loop for the crown.

Gauge and tools to supply separately

23 stitches × 32 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3 mm needles. Make a washed and dried swatch and adjust your needle size to match.

  • 3 mm circular needle, 40 cm.
  • 3 mm double-pointed needles, or a long circular needle for Magic Loop.
  • Four stitch markers, a wool needle and scissors.

Needles and notions are not included.

Choosing your size

Measure around the head and choose the corresponding head circumference. Baby is a 47–48 cm head size, not a newborn size. Where sizes share a kit option, the kit makes one beanie; follow your chosen size in the included pattern.

Care

Follow the yarn labels: wash separately on a wool programme, reshape and dry flat. Do not tumble dry. Avoid laundry bags for these non-superwash yarns.
