Gauge, needles and materials
Gauge: 17 stitches × 24 rows in stocking stitch on 5 mm needles = 10 × 10 cm.
Needles: 5 mm circulars: 40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm; 4.5 mm circulars: 80 and/or 100 cm; 4 mm circular: 40 cm; 5 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles.
Designer difficulty: 4 out of 5.

Peer Gynt metres use the designer’s stated quantities at 91 m per 50 g. The mohair is a replacement companion strand, estimated from the original companion length at 400 m per 50 g. These are length equivalents, not gram-for-gram substitutions; swatch the complete combination.
Wash and block a swatch before measuring. Match stitch and row gauge and check the fabric; adjust needle size as needed. Round up to complete sale units and allow extra for swatching or changes in length.
Frequently asked questions
Which Sonja yarn option uses two strands?
The Peer Gynt option holds one strand with one strand of Tynn Silk Mohair. Harmony, Inca Spun and Amano Warmi are separate single-strand alternatives.
Are the mohair quantities copied gram for gram from another yarn?
No. The replacement is calculated by length from the original companion strand. Its estimated requirement is 1200 m in XXS–XL and 1600 m in 2XL–5XL; do not treat these as gram quantities.
