Storm Sweater — PetiteKnit knitting pattern
A top-down knit-and-purl textured design with shaped shoulders. Work the back yoke, pick up each shoulder, join the front and then work the body in the round. Pick up the sleeves and work them in the round, adding the neck rib at the end.

Gauge, needles and materials
Gauge: 20 stitches × 32 rows in the texture pattern on 4 mm needles, after washing and blocking = 10 × 10 cm.
Needles: 4 mm circulars: 40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm; 3.5 mm circulars: 40, 80 and/or 100 cm; 4 mm and 3.5 mm double-pointed needles.
Designer difficulty: 4 out of 5.

Converted from the designer’s stated quantities using Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt: 91 m per 50 g. Rounded up to whole metres where needed.
Wash and block a swatch before measuring. Match stitch and row gauge and check the fabric; adjust needle size as needed. Round up to complete sale units and allow extra for swatching or changes in length.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some sizes have the same finished chest?
The pattern’s texture repeats mean some adjacent sizes share a chest measurement while their lengths and other shaping differ. Check the complete row for your size.
Is the gauge measured before washing?
Measure after washing and blocking the textured swatch. Matching both stitches and rows matters for the finished proportions.
