Mini Gansey Jumper – Naturally K3012
A traditional 8ply jumper for little ones, with knit-and-purl texture, moss-stitch edges and small side vents at the hem. Its charted details make a lovely project for knitters who enjoy stitch patterns.
Construction and pattern facts
The front, back and sleeves are knitted flat from the bottom up, then sewn together. Pick up the neckband and work it in the round. The charts use knit and purl stitches in one colour; this is a single-strand project.

Measurements follow the leaflet’s finished-garment table. Sleeve length is measured from the cast-on edge. Body chest measurements and a recommended ease amount are not supplied, so compare the finished chest with a jumper that fits well.
Yarn requirements
Use the original Naturally Magic Garden Classic DK/8ply, with 138 m per 50 g. This discontinued range has limited remaining shop stock; check that enough of your chosen shade is available before beginning. Quantities below are approximate and converted from the leaflet.

Gauge
22 stitches × 27 rows over stocking stitch on 4.00 mm needles = 10 × 10 cm. Check both stitch and row tension on a washed and blocked swatch; the pattern row gauge differs from the yarn label.
Needles and notions
- 3.25 mm and 4.00 mm needles for working flat.
- 3.25 mm double-pointed needles or a short circular needle for the neckband.
- Two stitch holders and a tapestry needle.
