Adult Roll Edge Beanie Knit Kit
Adult Roll Edge Beanie Knit Kit
Make a relaxed adult beanie with a soft rolled brim in Naturally Moro 12ply. Ngaire Brooks's pattern gives instructions for knitting flat or in the round, so you can choose the method that suits you.
Skill level and techniques
Confident Beginner. This beanie uses stocking stitch, crown decreases and finishing. Choose flat knitting with a side seam, or knitting in the round on circular and double-pointed needles.
Why you'll love this kit
- Simple stocking stitch lets the lightly textured alpaca, wool and hemp yarn shine.
- The brim rolls naturally, without ribbing.
- Includes a possum pompom for the finishing touch.
About the pattern
Cast on 76 stitches and work the beanie to 23 cm before shaping the crown. The circular version is worked in the round; the flat version is sewn at the side seam. One size fits an average adult head. Pattern design by Ngaire Brooks.

Is this beanie suitable for me?
If you can knit and purl, this is a useful next step for learning crown decreases and finishing a hat. You can follow the flat version and sew a seam, or knit in the round if you're comfortable using circular and double-pointed needles. If you choose the With Needles option, check the supplied needle type against the method you want to use.
