Five Baby Hats Knitting Pattern — Naturally K0809
Five little 4ply hats in one leaflet, offering a choice of textured stitches, delicate lace and cables for newborn gift knitting.

Every hat is knitted flat from its ribbed brim upwards, shaped at the crown and finished with a centre back seam. Intermediate overall: the textured hats use knit-and-purl repeats; Dainty Chevron uses lace yarn-overs and decreases; Hat 5 needs a cable needle. All designs include crown shaping.

Yarn requirements
Naturally New Zealand Merino 4ply, the supplier’s current Baby Haven range, provides approximately 178 m per 50 g. Work with one strand.

Approximate allowance for one hat of your chosen design, converted from the original Baby Haven quantity at 178 m per 50 g. The allowance is not for all five hats together.
Gauge and preparation
28 stitches and 36 rows to 10 cm over stocking stitch using 3.25 mm needles. Knit a washed and blocked swatch before starting and adjust needle size to match stitch and row gauge. The stated gauge is in stocking stitch, even where the project uses texture, lace or cables. Allow extra yarn for swatching.

- 2.5 mm and 3.25 mm needles, as stated in the leaflet
- Cable needle for Hat 5 only
