Baby Raglan Sweater & Hat Knitting Pattern — Naturally K0805
A textured 4ply baby sweater and matching hat, with ribbed edges and a useful three-button opening along the left front raglan. The repeating knit-and-purl texture adds interest without colour changes.
Construction and skill guidance
The sweater is knitted flat in separate back, front and sleeve pieces, shaped with raglan decreases and sewn together. Neck and buttonhole bands are picked up, leaving the upper left front raglan open for fastening. The hat is worked flat from the ribbed brim upwards, with crown decreases and a back seam.
Intermediate — shaping while keeping the stitch pattern correct, picking up stitches, buttonholes and seaming.

Yarn requirements
Naturally New Zealand Merino 4ply, the supplier’s current Baby Haven range, provides approximately 178 m per 50 g. Work with one strand.

Gauge and preparation
28 stitches and 36 rows to 10 cm over stocking stitch using 3.25 mm needles. Knit a washed and blocked swatch before starting and adjust needle size to match stitch and row gauge. The stated gauge is in stocking stitch, even where the project uses texture, lace or cables. Allow extra yarn for swatching.
