Texture Pram Blanket in New Zealand Merino 12ply
A soft merino blanket with an elegant knit-and-purl texture and a neat garter-stitch border. Worked flat on a circular needle, this approximately 70 × 80 cm blanket makes a thoughtful handmade baby gift.
Skill level and construction
Beginner: suitable if you can cast on, knit, purl and cast off, and are ready to follow a 16-row stitch repeat. The edging is knitted as you go; there are no seams. A circular needle holds the blanket’s width comfortably, but you work back and forth rather than joining in the round.

- One printed Textured Baby Pram Blanket pattern (N1758), posted with your kit.
The With option adds KnitPro Symfonie 5.5 mm interchangeable tips and a cable with key and end caps, making an 80 cm circular needle. The Without option has no knitting needle.
Needles, tension and finishing
The pattern calls for a 5.5 mm circular needle, 80 cm long. Supply your own tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Leather tags and stitch markers are not included.
N1758 does not specify a numerical tension. It advises tight knitters to use a slightly larger needle and loose knitters a slightly smaller one. Finished dimensions are approximate and will vary with your tension. Finish gently, preserving the raised texture.
Colour and care
Choose your shade by its yarn code: Cream 4000, Silver Mist 4001, Tidewater 4002, Airforce Blue 4003, Tiffany Blue 4004, Taupe 4005, Dusky Pink 4007 or Bone 4008. The yarn is 100% New Zealand merino; follow the ball band for a mild machine wash and dry flat in the shade.
