Waves Organic Wash Cloth Knit Kit
Waves Organic Wash Cloth Knit Kit
Knit softly textured, reusable washcloths with rippling stitches and a neat i-cord hanging loop. Peruvian Pima cotton gives these small homewares a soft feel and clear texture, making them satisfying projects to keep or give.
Skill level and construction
Beginner: you should be comfortable casting on, knitting and casting off. Practise slipped stitches in a simple four-row repeat, then work a short i-cord loop and sew it into place. Each cloth is knitted flat; no circular knitting is required.
Finished size and yarn quantities
Each cloth is approximately 20 × 20 cm. One 100 g hank is estimated to make three cloths; a two-hank option is estimated to make six. These are approximate yields, depending on tension, size and finishing.
| Kit option | Yarn included | Total metres |
|---|---|---|
| Single colour | 1 × 100 g Inti Prints hank | 283 m |
| Paired colours | 1 × 100 g Inti Prints hank and 1 × 100 g Inti Cotton hank | 566 m |
Your kit includes
- Amano Inti Prints 8ply in your selected printed colour. Paired options also include Amano Inti Cotton 8ply in the named companion colour.
- One printed Waves Washcloth knitting pattern.
Both yarns are 100% Peruvian Pima cotton, approximately 283 m per 100 g hank. Knit with one strand at a time. Wind your hanks into balls before starting.
Needles and tension
You need 4.5 mm knitting needles and a tapestry needle for sewing the loop and weaving in ends. Needles and notions are separate. The washcloth pattern does not specify a numerical gauge; check that your swatch gives the texture and approximate finished dimensions you want. Our guide to knitting gauge explains why tension changes size and yarn use.
Care and more projects

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between single and paired options?
Single options contain one Inti Prints hank. Paired options contain one Inti Prints hank plus one Inti Cotton hank in the named companion colour.
How many washcloths can I make?
Estimate three 20 × 20 cm cloths from a single hank or six from two hanks. Tension, size and finishing affect the actual yield.
Do I need to knit in the round?
No. Work each cloth flat in a knit-and-slip-stitch repeat. Finish with a short i-cord hanging loop sewn into place.
Are needles included and is the pattern printed?
The kit includes a printed Waves Washcloth pattern. You need separate 4.5 mm needles and a tapestry needle.
Can I use the yarn-label gauge as the washcloth gauge?
The washcloth pattern does not give a numerical gauge. Make a swatch in the cloth’s stitch pattern and check the fabric and approximate dimensions.
