Open heels and toes make these colourful cotton leg warmers a practical layer for yoga, Pilates or relaxing at home. Choose one of three shoe sizes. Knitted in Sesia Iride 4ply organic cotton.

Construction

Worked in the round, the socks combine ribbed leg and foot sections with an opening at the heel. You will use knit and purl stitches, shaping and knitting in the round. Follow the pattern for the heel opening.

Before You Start with Iride

The white leader yarn at the ends of an Iride cake is waste yarn. For a centre pull, remove the white leader before starting. If working from the outside, stop before the final white leader section and discard it. Do not knit or crochet the white leader into your project.

Yarn Requirements

Use one strand. All three shoe sizes use the same yarn quantity; follow the instructions for the size you need.

Needles and Notions

3.00 mm and 2.25 mm double-pointed needles, or sizes needed to obtain the pattern tension.

Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Pattern Tension

48 stitches and 42 rows in unstretched 1 × 1 rib on 2.25 mm needles, as specified in the pattern. The pattern does not state the measurement area for this tension. Swatch in rib before choosing your needle size.

Recommended Yarn

Sesia Iride 4ply organic cotton, 450 metres per cake. Work with a single strand; yarn is purchased separately.
