PetiteKnit Bea Top Knit Kit

Knit PetiteKnit’s streamlined Bea Top in Sandnes Garn Tynn Line, held double for a smooth, breathable fabric with beautiful drape.

The Bea Top is a sleeveless summer knit with a clean boat neckline and softly rolled edges. It is worked from the bottom up: the body is knitted in the round, then divided for the front and back yokes, which are shaped separately with decreases and short rows.

Choose your size

The Bea Top is designed with approximately 8 cm negative ease. Choose a size around 8 cm smaller than your actual bust measurement. The fabric may relax slightly after washing and with wear, so knitting and washing a tension swatch is especially important.

Yarn

Sandnes Garn Tynn Line is a light 4 ply blend of 53% cotton, 33% viscose and 14% linen, with approximately 220 metres per 50g ball. Two strands are held together throughout this pattern, creating a polished warm-weather fabric with softness, structure and fluid drape.

Your kit includes

  • The size-specific quantity of Sandnes Garn Tynn Line in your chosen colour
  • One printed PetiteKnit Bea Top pattern

Needles are not included. You will need a 3.5 mm circular needle in a 60 or 80 cm length.

Gauge: 20 stitches × 28 rows = 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3.5 mm needles.

Difficulty: 3 out of 5.

Choosing this project

Skill level: Intermediate. Bea Top is knitted from the bottom up and uses shaping and short rows for the yokes. It uses Sandnes Garn Tynn Line 4ply held double; the PetiteKnit Bea Top pattern is also available separately.

Frequently asked questions

Do I hold the cotton-blend yarn double?

Yes. Knit with two strands of Tynn Line held together throughout.

Is the Bea Top worked from the top down?

No. The body is worked in the round from the bottom up, then separated for the shaped yokes.

How close-fitting is the top?

The pattern specifies approximately 8 cm of negative ease, so measure your bust and consult the finished size table.

Are needles included?

No. You'll need the listed 3.5 mm circular needle in an appropriate length.

Is this the same as the Bea Blouse?

No. Bea Top is sleeveless and uses Tynn Line, while the Bea Blouse kit uses Pacific Lace mohair and silk.
