'Cosy' A Simple Scarf Knit Kit
Cosy Scarf Knit Kit
A soft triangular scarf with a playful bobbled edge, worked by holding a strand of Amano Samay together with a strand of lace-weight mohair. This simple project is a lovely next step for a newer knitter and makes a light layer for spring and summer.
What’s in your kit
- One hank of Amano Samay, 250 metres of Pima cotton and bamboo
- One ball of African Expressions Hope, 212 metres, or Sesia Vivienne, 210 metres, depending on your selected colourway
- Wild & Woolly Cosy Scarf knitting pattern
Hold one strand of each yarn together throughout. The pattern uses 9 mm needles and a tapestry needle for the ends. Select the With Needles option if you want a pair of 9 mm needles included; the Without Needles option supplies yarn and pattern only.
Size and construction
One size: a large triangular scarf that can be worn over the shoulders or draped around the neck. The scarf begins with four stitches and grows through repeated cast-on and cast-off edging. Work until the mohair is almost used, then cast off loosely. The source pattern gives no numerical gauge or finished dimensions; check the fabric you like on 9 mm needles.
Before you start
Wind the Samay hank into a ball before knitting. Read the included pattern for the full row instructions. Care for the finished scarf according to the more delicate yarn label; both mohair options specify hand washing, and the scarf should be reshaped flat to dry.
