About the Pattern
The cardigan is knitted flat from the bottom up. Work the sleeves first, then the body in one piece to the underarms. Join the sleeves and body for the raglan yoke, pick up stitches for the front button bands, and sew the sleeve seams. The hat is knitted flat with a ribbed brim, a shaped stocking-stitch crown and a back seam.
Skill Level
Intermediate. You should be comfortable with knit and purl stitches, increases and decreases, holding stitches, picking up stitches, buttonholes and sewing seams.
Choosing a Size
Measure the baby’s chest and choose the matching pattern size; ages are a guide. The combined 3 / 6–9 months kit supplies enough yarn for either individual pattern size. It includes six buttons, leaving one spare when knitting the three-month size. Each kit makes one cardigan and one hat.

Yarn Information
Bio Sesia 5 is a smooth 4ply yarn made from 100% organic combed cotton, with 180 metres per 50 g ball. K3053 specifies Bio Sesia 4ply. Follow the care instructions on the ball band and dry finished pieces flat. Wash and dry your swatch before measuring.
Tension
28 stitches and 36 rows to 10 × 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3.25 mm needles, or the size needed to obtain tension.
Needles and Notions
You will need 2.75 mm and 3.25 mm knitting needles, stitch holders, stitch markers and a sewing needle. Needles and these tools are not included. The wooden buttons are included.
